Our over-consumption of food in general but especially sugar and refined grains is making us so inflammed that over 600,000 people a year die of heart disease and another 600,000 die of cancer. (Inflammation is the root cause of heart disease, not high cholesterol) When we're overweight we're pre-diabetic or diabetic and more likely to get cancer, have a stroke or heart attack and a host of other diseases. THIS IS NOT NORMAL NOR IS IT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN! Most all of us are addicts. We're addicted to sugar, refined grains and fat. And we're so fat and tired we just figure this is just the way it is. It doesn't have to be. The first step to getting out of this deadly cycle is to acknowledge that we're addicted to bad eating habits. Then taking baby steps to getting out of the deadly cycle. If your doctor isn't hammering you to exercise and eat healthier and or is just prescribing statins and other medicine then he (or she) is like a drug dealer. A lot of doctors are paid by drug companies to promote their drugs and go along with the current way of doling out medicine and healthcare.
When we were hunter gatherers we weren't dying in huge numbers of heart disease and cancer. (We did die of viruses and bacterial infections and predators which we don't have to worry about today) We had no choice but to eat whole foods and move a lot. And we'd go through periods of fasting because we didn't have constant access to food (winter months). We sit for long periods staring at our computers, televisions and smart phones or driving. We have constant access to crappy food and mindlessly consume it. We're fat, sick and dying and big pharma and our healthcare system is making a ton of money off of us because of it. We only have one body and one life (unless you believe in reincarnation) and our lives are way too short to live with fatigue, fogginess and heaviness.
