I'm not a fan of many of the fitness magazines that show airbrushed models and actors and regurgitate the same stuff month after month after month, "Sexy abs in 4 weeks!" "Improve your sex drive 10 fold with this one secret!" "Look younger, feel sexy, be better!"... etc... The reason I'm sick of these magazines is because they don't address the root causes of why many of us feel and look lousy or why almost 70% of the American population is overweight and obese. For one thing most of us are addicted to sugar and starches. How do we become un-addicted? For one we first have to acknowledge that we ARE addicted. That's a first step. The second big problem I have with these magazines and their covers is that who the hell says we are supposed to want to look like that? Aren't we being programmed? I'll admit that I do find leaner people attractive. I always have. But I've also been attracted to people who weren't cut up but who lived very active and healthy lifestyles and didn't give a shit about being 'cut'. The truth is is that if we were to cut sugar and refined starches from our diets and eat our fruits and vegetables our healthcare system wouldn't so be clogged up.
