The human body wasn't designed to eat the amount or type of carbohydrates and sugar that we do today. We were designed to eat animal protein, vegetables, nuts, seeds and some fruit. We weren't designed to sit for 8 hours at a time staring at a computer screen, cell phone or television either. We were designed to move. This is why over 70% of our population is overweight and more than a third is obese. It's also why more than one million people die every year from heart disease (over 600,00.00 per year) and cancer (over 500,00.00). Inflammation is the root cause of all disease and a diet high in sugar and carbohydrates triggers an inflammation response. Our healthcare system is a traffic jam of people with cancer, heart disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, auto-immune disease and depression. Much of this can be alleviated through healthy eating. If you owned a Porsche and it required a high octane fuel would you put low quality, low octane fuel in it? Why would you do that to your own body?
